Horse Helps Woman Go To School

by Hidden Trails 11/19/2010

A Michigan woman made international headlines when she brought her mini horse to university. The mini horse, Cali, is her guide and companion: a seeing eye mini horse! The graduate student purchased and paid for Cali’s training, so that she can navigate through life easier. A seeing eye horse can be great alternative for people who can’t have a dog for reasons like allergies or religious practices.

The company that trained her horse, The Guide Horse Foundation (www.guidehorse.com), has had so much interest that they’ve had to close the application process for the time being.
However, other people argue that this is a form of animal cruelty. What do you think?
