South Africa is getting ready to welcome the world in 2010 for the FIFA football world cup. It’s the perfect time to discover the many attractions of this amazing vibrant country!

Hidden Tails offers riding holidays with unforgettable scenery and ample wildlife. Discover our rides in The Western Cape, Waterberg Region and Wild Coast .

Before or after your adventure on horseback, we recommend experiencing some of what South Africa has to offer.Cape Town is home to the oldest wine estate in Africa.  Dating back to 1685, Groot Constantia is a beautiful example of Cape Dutch architecture and has been producing wine for more than three centuries.

Take the cableway to the top and experience one of the most beautiful views in Africa, Table Mountain . Overlooking Cape Town and out towards Table Bay and Robben Island to the north, and the Atlantic seaboard to the west and south. The mountain is home to unique native flowers such as protea and animals like dassies, porcupines and mongoose. From the 17th to the 20th centuries, Robben Island served as a place of banishment, isolation and imprisonment. Today it is a World Heritage Site and museum, a poignant reminder to the newly democratic South Africa of the price paid for freedom. Nelson Mandela was imprisoned here from 1964 to 1984 when he was relocated.
